An event dedicated to "January 20 – Remembrance Day" was held at Gabala State Vocational Training Center. A minute of silence was observed in memory of the martyrs of January 20. Director of the Center Galib Nabiyev, Chief of the Civil Defence Staff of the Center, participant of the Patriotic War Ilham Afandiyev spoke about the tragedies that befell our people during Bloody January events and the freedom struggle of the Azerbaijani people. It was noted that the January 20 tragedy, this bloody and brutal action against our people was given a political and legal assessment after the return of great leader Heydar Aliyev to power for the second time in 1993. January 20 is not only one of the worst tragedies in the history of Azerbaijan, but also an honourable page. Our heroic sons and daughters, who were killed in Bloody January, played an unprecedented role in Azerbaijan's independence. At the end, poems dedicated to our martyrs and Motherland were performed by the students of the Center and a video clip reflecting the January 20 events was shown.
