The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev was interviewed by Azerbaijan Television.

The fact that the President Ilham Aliyev participated at the opening ceremony of a newly constructed building of Absheron District Central Hospital is the approval of reality once again that human factor and citizen satisfaction are always kept behind the policy carried out by our state. Construction of a new building of Absheron District Central Hospital is a next proof of the special attention paid to human health in our country. Built under the Order of the Azerbaijani President, the 150-bed hospital was supplied with the necessary equipment. Surgery, therapy, paediatrics, reanimation, dialysis and other departments, as well as laboratories will be functioning at the hospital. The Head of State touched upon some important issues at his interview to the Azerbaijan Television after the opening of the hospital. Social projects of the state cover the healthcare field like other ones. Azerbaijan is gradually transitioning to a compulsory health insurance system. Initial implementation of the pilot projects shows positive results. The quality of medical services was improved in three cities (Mingachevir, Aghdash and Yevlakh cities) covered by the pilot projects, while citizen satisfaction is high. Every year the government provides medical examinations of 5 million citizens based on human health. This step taken by the government which requires great organizational and financial resources is the care personification shown to the people. COVID-19 pandemic wrote history economically as stagnation period for the world countries. If we notice, we can see that the failure of most states to find the right way out of the situation when they started the struggle led to a number of economic and social consequences. Azerbaijan stood out with own experience again. The World Health Organization represented the forecast from day one that Azerbaijan will come out of the fight against coronavirus infection with minimal losses. Our Head of State, President Ilham Aliyev, while highlighting the factor of human health, set the deepening of economic reforms and the fact that no social project will be postponed. If we pay attention to the measures taken since the first month of 2020, the steps taken, we will see that the goal was achieved. It should be noted that last year, along with fighting the coronavirus infection, Azerbaijan restored its territorial integrity, ended 30 years of occupation. Azerbaijan demonstrated Armenia and its defenders that justice will sooner or later prevail. 44 days-war was the presentation of opportunities that our country have in all fields. The world community witnessed Armenian vandalism during the Patriotic War. Armenia has destroyed all infrastructures and devastated the districts by invading our lands. It reaffirms that what disaster we have fought against. Today, pro-Armenian, anti-Azerbaijani, Islamophobic circles, which want to overshadow our just cause, must know that the hated Armenia has occupied and devastated all our infrastructures by occupying our territories. Aghdam city was completely ruined. There is no unharmed building. Only one mosque was half destroyed and insulted by Armenians. There is not a single sound building left in Fuzuli, only three-four storeyed belonging to the military units. There is a military unit at the entrance to the city of Jabrayil, but there is no city. In Gubadli and Zangilan, only a few houses remain, and they are in dilapidated condition. Shusha city called as “art temple of Caucasus”, “cradle of the Azerbaijani music” and “conservatory of the East”, considered homeland of many prominent figures having important services in the socio-political life of Azerbaijan, as well as historical culture center and crown jewel of Karabakh has already been liberated. In this regard, highlighting that Shusha plays an important role on the history of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani President said: “This is our ancient and historical city. For centuries, Azerbaijanis have lived, built and created in Shusha. Shusha is a pearl not only of Azerbaijan but also of the entire Caucasus. However, by occupying Shusha, the hated enemy dealt a great blow to our cultural heritage, destroyed our historical sites, destroyed our mosques and insulted us. We have now returned to Shusha. We will restore all our historical sites, as well as our mosques in Shusha must be overhauled, restored, and their original appearance returned”. Saying the historical image of Shusha must be restored without wasting time, the Head of State declared Shusha to be the capital of Azerbaijani culture: “The city of Shusha deserves that. I think that it can be considered not only the cultural capital of Azerbaijan but also of the entire region. The cultural life of Shusha should be rich. The Head of State noted that the Poetry Days of Vagif were held traditionally, and addressed that the “Khari Bulbul” festival and the “Poetry Days of Vagif” must be restored in Shusha. As Azerbaijani people we also believe that thoughts sounded by Mr. President will be solved soon. Shusha city will return pre-occupation fame. All liberated territories will develop; destroyed cities will gain popularity with both historicity and contemporaneity.
