Lachin district will play an important role in the future economic development of Azerbaijan.

Lachin district, which is of strategic importance for our country, as well as other lands liberated from occupation, was returned to its original owners after 28 years under the leadership of Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. Waving of our tricolor flag in Shusha, Jabrayil, Fuzuli, Zangilan, Gubadli, Aghdam, Kalbajar, and finally in Lachin, one of the charming corners of Azerbaijan, is one of the brightest pages of the history of Azerbaijan. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev also pointed in his address to the nation on the occasion of liberation of Lachin from occupation: “A new reality has emerged in our region. We have created it. Azerbaijan has created this reality. We have driven the enemy out of our lands. We have implemented the resolutions of the UN Security Council. These resolutions have remained on paper for 27 years. For 27 years, these resolutions have been a piece of paper for many – not only Armenia but others as well. We said that international law was on our side and that the UN Security Council resolutions demand a withdrawal of the occupying forces from our lands. However, they yielded no result. We have ushered in a new reality for our region and from the experience of the international law. We have effectuated the UN Security Council resolutions. We have restored our territorial integrity. We have ended the occupation. I hope that we have forged a new security and cooperation format in the region for the present and future”. It is very important for us to liberate any of our settlements, every inch of our land from the beaten of the enemy. Every inch of the homeland is precious and we have risked death for the Homeland. We proved these words true in the 44-day war. It is no secret that Lachin district played an exception role in the Karabakh war. The support of some Western circles gave them the upper hand. As a result, a very serious policy of settlement was carried out in Lachin district. As President Ilham Aliyev stressed, liberation of Lachin, especially Lachin corridor has always been discussed as a very critical and separate topic in the negotiations held over many years – for about 30 years. Lachin corridor is an adequate to the guarantee for the safety of transport communications linking the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic with the western regions of Azerbaijan. The last corridor connects Azerbaijan and Turkey by land, which is the result of a double victory in the Patriotic War. Raising the Azerbaijani flag in Lachin, playing the National Anthem of Azerbaijan is a major blow for Armenian community. We showed them our greatness, strength and proved that they have made a great mistake by betraying us. Internal disputes in Armenia will intensify from now on. Expressions like Karabakh Armenian, indigenous Armenians will be used. This is the reality of Armenia, which for many years “dictated” us to reconcile with defeat. Collapse for Armenia Armenia, which has been boasting of a “winner” for almost 30 years, trying to introduce himself as a superior party is inevitable. I consider that Armenia's Aggressive Policy was ended by the liberation of Lachin. The entry of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces into Lachin is the end of an era, the manifestation of the beginning of a new era. Armenia, wanting to give state status to the so-called regime should fend for himself. However, Armenia lacks the resources to support himself. Grain, grapes and other valuable resources transported from the occupied lands for many years - mineral waters, gold, etc. was off Armenia’s hands. Furthermore, invader country must indemnify for the damage caused to Azerbaijan. The destiny of Armenia, a poor and defeated country with more foreign debt than the state budget, remains undecided. The current situation in the liberated lands makes great challenges. There is no condition for living currently. However, those regions will be restored on the account of the Azerbaijani state budget, with the political will of the President. All steps will be taken for daily life of our citizens. A relevant state body has already been established and all this work will be carried out in coordination.
