Basketball tournament dedicated to the memory of “General Polad Hashimov” has been held
The memorial basketball tournament dedicated to the memory of “General Polad Hashimov” has been held on September 09, 2020 among young people in Gabala Olympic Sports Complex. Aim of the tournament is to glorify the memory of General Polad Hashimov martyred in the fights in the direction of Tovuz, to perpetuate the memory of our martyred soldiers and officers, to communicate Armenian aggression against our country to the public, as well as to ensure increasing and improving sports skills of competition participants. Firstly, tournament participants observed a minute of silence in the memory of General Polad Hashimov and martyrs died for the defense of Azerbaijani lands. Then at the opening ceremony of the event Head of the Youth and Sports Department Fakhri Soltanov made a speech and talked about Major-General Polad Hashimov’s fight for the defense of Azerbaijani lands. At the end of the memorial tournament Mirzabayli village team was awarded I place, Gabala city secondary school No. 5 team was awarded II place and Gabala Olympic Sports Complex team was awarded III place.
